Needing additional space for their rapidly expanding workforce, Advantis asked SUM to design a large office space to relocate their executive team and provide a host of functions for their growing lending and finance operations. Top on the list was a showpiece boardroom that would support their large board meetings of 40+ attendees, while also providing the latest in audio-visual technology for videoconferencing with remote partners. Architecturally, walnut paneling is woven through the project, creating a cohesive and elegant language of lending heirarchy to spaces. “Folded” planes of walnut denote the entry to executive offices, breaking up the facade and avoiding the monotony all to common in office environments. A generous break room provides a lounge space for employees and features a custom pocket door from the kitchen to the the board room, making catering large functions a breeze.
