The Wilmore is a mixed use project comprised of studio, one and two bedroom units atop ground floor retail. The project derives its design from a variety of factors, including the split zoning of the site, requiring the building to vary in height along certain parts of the site. Consisting of over 6,000 SF of retail on the ground floor, 37 parking spaces, and 75 units, the project is targeting LEED silver accreditation, and is receiving a substantial financial tax incentive from the Portland Housing Bureau for providing 20 percent of its units to renters meeting criteria for low income housing. The LEED accreditation is achieved in part through innovative features such as a solar hot water system, large windows for natural daylight and ventilation, a occupiable roof deck, on-site stormwater retention, and increased insulation in exterior walls.
