Hood River Athletic Club

Under new ownership, the Hood River Athletic Club underwent a full transformation—with SUM leading the redesign to reimagine the aging facility as a vibrant, modern hub for the community.

Key upgrades include a reconfigured entry and check-in area, new restaurant and bar, renovated locker rooms, expanded yoga, spin, and CrossFit studios, and indoor pickleball and tennis enhancements. A new childcare center supports member access and flexibility.

Industrial materials, warm wood tones, and exposed beams strike a balance between durability and comfort. By removing interior walls and an unused pool, SUM opened up the space to natural light—revitalizing a long-standing community asset with thoughtful design and fresh energy.
